Schwieriges Los! Genk sollte man auf keinen Fall unterschätzen.
In der aktuellen Verfassung sehe ich unsere Chancen bei maximal 40:60.

Re: EUROPA LEAGUE 2012/2013
Hello Luzernfans,
I see that some Genkfans already told you something about the club and the city, but I also like to give you some information about the city and the fans of KRC Genk.
Genk city
65,000 people are living in our town. Genk is originally a coal mine territory, so in the twentieth century, Genk became a 'city of miners'. The population in Genk grew due to the immigration from southern and east europe. After the mines closed their doors, there came a huge industrial park in the south of Genk. So Genk stayed a working class and multicultural city. Thanks to the mineculture, the spatial planning in our city has developped in a strange way. Back in the days, the labors organised themselves in districts near the coalmines (Zwartberg, Waterschei and Winterslag), so there has never been a very big centre in Genk. So, still today, not all people slip down to the centre at night, but a lot of them have a drink in their own (multicultural) district. Genk counts a lot of cozy Italian, Greek, Spanish, Portueguese clubs.
In Genk there was a developed night life back in the days. A lot of clubs were there. But the multicultural aspect of Genk had a detrimental impact on social life. The most entertaining places closed their doors, because some immigrants were looking for fights each night out. Nowadays, Genk still has a number of good pubs. But I advise to drink there on matchday (by good wheather, Genk has some fine terraces!), but for a good night out, check out Hasselt. They still have clubs and a number of 'dance cafés'.
Genk: the fans
Genk plays her home games for 21,000 people (average). The stadium has a capacity of 25,000 people. The ultra/atmosphere groups are collected in 'Tribune Zuid' (South Stand). We are especially known for our great away support and made a good impression in the Champions League last year. With great home- and away support against Chelsea, Leverkusen and Valencia.
'Till the 31th of August!
Flemish greetings from Genk!

Re: EUROPA LEAGUE 2012/2013
Hi Luzernfans !
We can't wait to come to Luzern.
Can you guys give us some info about your city?
- What should we see?
- Are there nice bars?
- Are there big city squares where the Genkfans can come together?
- How many places are there for the away-fans?
- Drums, flags, group banners all allowed without any restrictions?
- Maybe some extra info... ?
About Genkteam:
We are a Belgian team wich normally always play in the top 4.
We were Belgian champions 2 seasons ago. Recently 2 of our players got their big transfer. Thibaut Courtois & Kevin De Bruyne, both went to Chelsea. Courtois is on loan at Atl. Madrid, De Bruyne on loan at Werder Bremen.
Last season, and also this season we got very decent attackers.. Jelle Vossen & Christian Benteke, who make a goal almost every game. Both players always score around 20 goals per season. We also got very talentfull youth. Our youth academy is the best of Belgium. Our defence is somekind of our weak spot. 3 of our usual defenders are injured.
Genkcity: It's not the best city to go out. We only got some pubs. But I advice you to go to hasselt with bus or car. Hasselt is 15 minutes of driving from Genk. There are many more pubs & clubs.
About our fans:
Our biggest support comes from our South stand, called 'Tribune Zuid'. Tribune Zuid is a stand where all the 'crazy' fans sing and jump together. We sing almost continious for 90 minutes. We got a lot of compliments for our fan support after our european campaign last season. Below some vids and pics:
Before our derby against STVV
Sorry for the big post. If you got any questions, ask them...
